Hey there! I’m Susan.
I’m so glad you are here.
I am a wife to my best friend, mom to two energetic kiddos, blogger, aspiring author/speaker, engineer by trade, and most importantly a Christ follower.
My husband is the love of my life and my best friend. We’ve been married nearly 15 years and we are in love more today than ever. We fight for our alone time and we constantly look for ways to be good to each other.
We also can’t get enough of our family. Our children, A and M, are busy bees. They keep us entertained for sure. There is always a puppet show, art class or a wrestling match happening at any given time.
Our home is full of energy, laughs, and playtime all day, every day. I wouldn’t change it for anything.
I also love casual days and exploring outdoors. The picture below captures me in my happy zone. We were on a hiking trail that led to a protected beach. It was a fabulous walk and the beach was worth the hike. See the picture of the beach below, too. Isn’t it lovely? These are the days I enjoy most. If you want to know more about me, send me an email using the form below.
Why IntentionalEveryday.com exists –
Even though I wouldn’t change the good stuff of our lives for anything, some areas need improvement. So, my family is currently working on some stuff to help our lives run smoother, strengthen our faith, and help us use our resources wisely. The stuff we are doing and learning is too good not to share. My goal is to learn and share important life lessons. I will share what works and what doesn’t. Your time is valuable and I will honor this by posting what I feel is most relevant and helpful. Here are some specific things we are working on right now –
- My family is trying to become very consistent with our Bible lessons and Family Worship. We have made a lot of changes and we’re seeing great progress.
- I’m also working on getting all of my craziness corralled. I’m sure you can relate. With two kids, marriage, work, laundry, dishes, and on and on I need some tools to help me get things done quickly. I have too much to do so I’m working on ways to get things done quicker. I also have removed stuff from my schedule. It’s been liberating removing myself from unnecessary responsibilities.
- Another area I’m working on is spiritual disciplines. I want to strengthen my daily disciplines and build a Godly character. I want to be slow of tongue, slow to anger, and quick to love . I want to be the Virtuous Woman from Proverbs 31. I’m definitely far from the goal but I’m heading in the right direction. Progress is progress no matter how small.
I’m so happy you are here to share in our adventure as we fight to live Intentional Every Day.
Our Mission here at IntentionalEveryday.com–

What you will find here –
Practical Tips and Advice – If you are overwhelmed or need a fresh perspective, this is the place for you. I will be sharing how to simplify life and how to make hard choices so you can have some breathing room for the good stuff.
Faith Enhancers – We all need a little more Jesus in our everyday. Intentionaleveryday.com is a place to find resources and inspiration help strengthen our walk with Jesus.
Encouragement for your Intentional Family – Do you want your kids to be strong, independent adults? Me too. I also want to be very careful about what I expose my children to, what I share with them, and what they learn by simply watching me. My actions speak volumes where my words speak paragraphs. I choose to guide my kids intentionally and I’ll be sharing what I’m learning in this area of my life.
Resource Stewardship – God has blessed us with life resources. These are resources we use to build our life – money, time and relationships. God allows us to have freedom to choose how we spend our gifts. Lately, I have been challenged to spend my resources as wisely as possible. I don’t want to be wasteful. I want us to make the best decisions possible and to use what we’ve been blessed with wisely.
Planning Advice – One thing you should know about me is I love to set goals and plan. I make lists for everything. I can host a killer party that requires minimal effort. I even love managing finances. Planning is a strong suit for me. I’m excited to create goals with you and crush them.
What you will not find here –
Bad Behavior – This is a community. Therefore, this is not the place to bash each other, make derogatory comments, or just be mean. This behavior will not be tolerated. I do, however, appreciate differences. Our lives are all at different places and filled with different people. What works for me and my family may not work for you. That’s cool. I want to know about it. I enjoy learning. In fact this blog is just that, a place for me to learn and share what I’ve learned. If you are doing something different, by all means, leave a comment and let me know what you are doing. Or you can send me a message. Please see below. This blog is a place to enjoy our differences and try to build better lives together. That’s why we are the Intentional Community.
Time Wasters – I also will not waste your time with things that will not bring value to your life, at least to the best of my ability. I can sometimes get sidetracked with shiny things. However, please understand that if something brings value to me it may not be 100% beneficial to you every time. That’s ok. Like I said, we are all different. If you see a post that you question the value of, please let me know. I want to hear. Also, if you want to me to research and talk about something else I want to know that too. I want to talk about the things that matter to you.
