Bible Verses You Need When Your Plans Change

Bible verses for when your plans change

You are reading Bible Verses for When Your Plans Change. Enjoy and please share to encourage others.

Lately, God keeps bringing my attention to the fact that I am not very flexible.

It absolutely drives me bonkers when the plan changes. Not every little thing bugs me but when I become invested in something, yes, it upsets me when things change.

When something gets settled in my mind, change becomes difficult for me.

I got upset one time because I had saved some dark chocolate for me to enjoy later. Later came and my chocolate was gone. Gone!!! Who would do that?

Please tell me someone out there can relate!!

Maybe you can relate to this. When my husband and I were getting out of debt and trying to save our money so I could be home with our new baby, our Central Heat/Air unit died. Ugh!!! And it was cold outside. We had to get it fixed right away because we needed heat.

We had made so much progress with our finances that year but I knew this would set us back. It did, big time. In fact, it took most of our newly acquired savings to pay for some heat.

I stood weeping in our living room over money that we had worked hard to save. I wanted to stay home with my new baby even for just a few weeks longer than the standard amount.

My husband, who’s much more flexible than I, hugged me and said “God made sure we had the money before we had the catastrophe.” Gulp.

I still don’t understand how this didn’t upset him, even just a little. Maybe I was upset enough for the both of us. I don’t know.

His statement was like hot pokers straight in my heart. God showed me in that moment that He knew we needed a Heat/Air unit and He made sure that we had the finances to handle the situation with relative ease.

I wanted to look back at the money we once had and wish it was still there. Who doesn’t like a few thousand dollars in their savings?

But when God said I’ve got the Central Heat/Air situation under control, He reminded me that He could handle much more than that.

Get your note cards, journal, or sticky notes ready!

The way to fix issues of the heart is to pray, read applicable scriptures, and meditate. When I meditate on this issue and what my proper response should be, I’m convicted that I didn’t have enough faith in Him to sustain me through changes.

Unfortunately, I keep learning that I rely on myself and my plans rather than on the one who gives/keeps the plans. When I take the pressure of keeping my plans off me, I really take the pressure off me. It’s comforting to know God is faithful, even in the small details of our lives.

If life-changes are making you go crazy, read, write, and meditate the following verses. Be reminded that God is never-changing in a world full of changes.

Bible verses for when your plans change

God is always with us.

I am always so encouraged when I remember that God is with us and cares for the details of our lives, even when our Heat/Air unit dies.

“It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” Deuteronomy 31:8

Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

. . . And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age. Matthew 28:20

God is always the same.

Not only is God always with us but He never changes. This is also very comforting.

For I the Lord do not change; therefore you, O children of Jacob, are not consumed. Malachi 3:6

Forever, O Lord, your word is firmly fixed in the heavens. Your faithfulness endures to all generations; you have established the earth, and it stands fast Psalm 119:89-90

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. Hebrews 13:8

God will help us.

God is a wonderful teacher and leader, we simply have to listen. He is showing us today that He wants to show us where to go and what to do.

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you. Psalm 32:8

The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. Psalm 18:2

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Psalm 119:105

do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-8

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6
