Easter Bible Verses for Kids

October 10, 2019 By Susan Leave a Comment

Our family loves holidays. I know you’ve read this before! But it’s true!! We love to do fun things together. And I love to find ways to reinforce why these days are so important.

When we are trying to learn wonderful truths during holidays, we focus on a single topic at a time – a central theme.

For Easter, our central theme is so easy that we can stay with it the entire Easter season. We focus all Easter on the empty tomb. Yes, Jesus died. We talk about that too especially as they get older but when my kids were little we simply talked about ’empty and full’. As the years have progressed, so has our depth of learning.

At age 6, we learn that Jesus had to die and be placed in the tomb for the tomb to be empty. The focus is still on the miracle that the tomb is empty. This year we are memorizing two Bible verses to compliment our learning.

We memorize at age 6 by copying the words in our journal. I do this too. We also recite/memorize all week long. Holy week (from Palm Sunday to Easter) is a great time to spend extra time in God’s Word.

Matthew 28:6  “He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.”

John 11:25  “Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.”

I hope you enjoy this wonderful holiday and the fabulous learning opportunities it will present.

One of the simplest lessons to teach our kiddos, is how to love. Yet, parents can struggle with this. It doesn’t have to be a challenge, though. Think about it like this – God is love and we should be like God! Therefore, we should be love. And we should teach our kids to love. […]

3 Things to do when you are overwhelmed

I sat down at the kitchen table and looked around at the mess. My house was a disaster and my heart was heavy thinking about all the things I needed to do. A weight sat on me making it hard to breathe as I looked around at the hot mess in this room. I couldn’t […]

During times of overwhelm, we can inadvertently hold love from our own children. It’s like we get focused on everything else that we don’t share love intentionally anymore. We get sidetracked easily. We have so much to do, right? Who out there feels the pressure to do all the things? It’s gets so overwhelming. Being […]
